Dear Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern
and Rt Hon Winston Peter, Minister of Foreign Affairs

Letter by Kay Weir

We are very concerned about the political situation in the world commanded by the West, which has lost its way in wars. The Pacific Institute of Resource Management, founded in 1984 in Wellington is dedicated to promoting sustainable use of the earth’s resources and peace and justice issues. We publish the occasional journal Pacific Ecologist, and make submissions to government.

The present cyber hacking allegations against Russia, led by the UK, hide a multitude of deadly crimes against humanity committed by the UK-US led allies. This latest anti-Russia smear is part of the endless, dangerous demonising of Russia indulged in by western governments. These western governments are truly guilty of killing millions of people this century in wars against international law which have also used banned weapons, like white phosphorous bombs that burn flesh to the bone, and also cluster bombs. Yet our Western allies have with impunity got away with murdering millions and destroying countries based on false information. There is never any apology for all this.

How has this happened? Why is the US-UK-led West not held accountable for their crimes? Not having been held accountable the West continues on its way to more wars, and having lost touch with intelligence, including compassion and the consequences of its actions, is likely to lead soon to the ultimate end war with nuclear weapons. New Zealand has led the world against nuclear weapons with its legislation. The situation with continual wars of the West, and the dangerous direction this is heading needs to be addressed.

We support the NZ government withdrawing from all the West’s wars on humanitarian grounds, and not taking part in the continuing stream of allegations against Russia by the aggressive western allies. New Zealand should follow the example of Switzerland. Only by stepping out of line with the continued thuggery of the west’s wars can we hope to find a path to security and peace in the world.

Dutch foreign minister resigns: dangerous lie exposed

The Dutch story about Russia hacking an OPCW lab is absurd, why would the Netherlands wait 6 months to release such ‘hot’ information when it purveyed lies about Russia for years? This year, Dutch Foreign Minister Halbe Zijlstra resigned in February after admitting he had lied about attending a meeting in 2006 at which he said Russian President Vladimir Putin had outlined a strategy for building a greater Russia. This lie from 2006 was a useful stick to beat President Putin and Russia with and suited NATO’s propaganda on the need to “contain Russia.” More weapons for the war machines on Russia’s borders, etc. Why has there been no calling out by Western governments of this heinous crime of misinformation by a senior government minister that could potentially lead to world war involving nuclear weapons countries?

Condemning Russia distracts from real western crimes

The latest round condemning of Russia is a sick distraction from the many real crimes against humanity perpetrated and still being committed by the West, mainly the UK, US, France. The cyber allegation is most likely also to garner support for another bombing campaign. The West have never been held accountable for their hideous, illegal wars on Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, that have killed millions directly, and millions more through destroyed infrastructure caused by heavy bombing campaigns. And of course millions of refugees have fled from destroyed cities. This is all historical proven knowledge. Why do Western countries not answer to their real crimes against humanity?

What untold, unseen misery they have incurred, and how can the West’s powerful countries with devastating weapons be held accountable and liable for war damage and reconstruction? Nicholas J.S. Davies has done excellent work in comprehensive studies on how many have been killed in the wars. His last report titled How Many Millions have been killed in America’s post — 9–11 Wars? Part 3, Libya, Syria, Somalia and Yemen, estimates 6 million have died directly in violent deaths from the wars. This doesn’t include deaths caused after the bombings via destruction of infrastructure, affecting water supplies, sanitation and hospitals. So much of the horror of these wars has been deliberately hidden from people in the West.

Note: An Amnesty International report gives harrowing details of the Western allies annihilatory 5 month bombing of Raqqua in Syria in 2017 which they describe as a war crime that needs to be investigated and responded to with reparations provided to the devastated city and civilians.

Syrian Christian Churches statement after West’s illegal bombing in April 2018

In a joint statement released after the unilateral illegal western airstrikes on Syria on 14 April, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, Syrian Orthodox and-Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Alexandria, and Jerusalem, spoke out in a statement. They said they “condemn and denounce the brutal aggression that took place against their precious country Syria by the USA, France and the UK, under allegations the Syrian government has used chemical weapons.”

“This brutal aggression is a clear violation of the international laws … because it is an unjustified assault on a sovereign country,” declared the Christian leaders. “It causes us great pain that this assault comes from powerful countries to which Syria did ot cause any harm in any way.… This brutal aggression destroys the chances for a peaceful political solution and leads to escalation and more complications.” The “unjust” attack also “encourages terrorist organizations” and “gives them momentum to continue in their terrorism,” the regional Christian chiefs explained, referring to the jihadist fighters backed by globalist powers seeking to overthrow the Syrian government. The full statement is available here and below.

Please note: The Syrian government gave up its chemical weapons years ago, and was cleared by the OPCW in 2017. The OPCW did not find any sign of nerve agent or toxic element in the staged Douma, East Ghouta event. But many thousands of terrorists in Syria have not given up their chemical weapons. Russia and Syria warned through September that a chemical weapons attack in Idleb had been prepared by armed terrorists and their helpers the White Helmets, to be staged for public dissemination to provoke a response from western allies to bomb Syria so the terrorists can remain to terrorise Syrians. It’s unbelievable this is allowed to happen with the blessing of the west to keep terrorists in Syria to undermine the legitimate government.

Yours sincerely

A Statement Issued by the Patriarchates of Antioch and all the East for the Greek Orthodox, Syrian Orthodox, and Greek-Melkite Catholic

Damascus, 14 April 2018

God is with us; Understand all ye nations and submit yourselves!

We, the Patriarchs: John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, Ignatius Aphrem II, Syrian Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, and Joseph Absi, Melkite-Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Alexandria, and Jerusalem, condemn and denounce the brutal aggression that took place this morning against our precious country Syria by the USA, France and the UK, under the allegations that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons. We raise our voices to affirm the following:

  1. This brutal aggression is a clear violation of the international laws and the UN Charter, because it is an unjustified assault on a sovereign country, member of the UN.
  2. It causes us great pain that this assault comes from powerful countries to which Syria did not cause any harm in any way.
  3. The allegations of the USA and other countries that the Syrian army is using chemical weapons and that Syria is a country that owns and uses this kind of weapon, is a claim that is unjustified and unsupported by sufficient and clear evidence.
  4. The timing of this unjustified aggression against Syria, when the independent International Commission for Inquiry was about to start its work in Syria, undermines of the work of this commission.
  5. This brutal aggression destroys the chances for a peaceful political solution and leads to escalation and more complications.
  6. This unjust aggression encourages the terrorist organizations and gives them momentum to continue in their terrorism.
  7. We call upon the Security Council of the United Nations to play its natural role in bringing peace rather than contribute to escalation of wars.
  8. We call upon all churches in the countries that participated in the aggression, to fulfill their Christian duties, according to the teachings of the Gospel, and condemn this aggression and to call their governments to commit to the protection of international peace.
  9. We salute the courage, heroism and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army which courageously protects Syria and provide security for its people. We pray for the souls of the martyrs and the recovery of the wounded. We are confident that the army will not bow before the external or internal terrorist aggressions; they will continue to fight courageously against terrorism until every inch of the Syrian land is cleansed from terrorism. We, likewise, commend the brave stand of countries which are friendly to the Syria and its people.

We offer our prayers for the safety, victory, and deliverance of Syria from all kinds of wars and terrorism. We also pray for peace in Syria and throughout the world, and call for strengthening the efforts of the national reconciliation for the sake of protecting the country and preserving the dignity of all Syrians.
